Frank Lord


Frank has helped build many successful businesses in the private, public and voluntary sectors and contributed to many others based on his passion for and belief in people development, serving on more than 14 National and Regional boards including:


The education board of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Managing Director for one of the largest private education and training businesses in the UK, ELS/Protocol and now actively involved in Chairing at a regional level an Employment and Skills Board, an Education Business Partnership and the National Training (NTA) and Matrix Excellence Awards.


Frank has received National recognition for his contribution to employee development and business excellence and has a long standing interest and commitment to the benefits of investing in learning and skills. These include amongst others:

  • Invited to provide expert evidence to the Skills Select Committee on the ‘Leitch Report’ and the No 10 Policy Unit on Quality Standards and Capacity in Education.
  • National Training Award, special secretary of state commendation for work based employee development.
  • First pilot for Investors in People Star project, Presented in the House of Commons.
  • First motor industry retailer approved as an NVQ centre.
  • First training and education provider on the National Grid for Learning to provide
  • Continuing Professional Development for 70,000 lecturers in the Higher and Further Education Sector.

Frank’s aspirations for Babington Business College are very close to his heart ‘Babington has a key role to play in providing the best opportunities for businesses and individuals to grow and prosper by developing their skills’.
